Fantasy sports have invited the internet from basketball to rugby. In this game, the participant plays the role of the owner of the team who will choose the real players to form a virtual team in the internet. While these players play in real life, their scores and other statistics are converted to virtual points at the end of each week. During the game, the participants are also allowed to sell, buy and replace players from their team.
In Fantasy Ruby, a player's worth depends on the demand that the player creates for himself. This means the player that is owned by most participating team owners, the higher his value is. Since team owners get to buy and sell their virtual players, the value of the players moves up and down. However, at the beginning, they are all assigned a value based on their previous season's popularity.
If the real player does not participate in a game, the virtual player receives no point. Today, an incomplete team does not have the capacity to produce any point for a round.
How do they produce points? In fantasy sports, statistics recorded by players in real games are identified and converted to fantasy points which sum up to get the team points. In rugby union, there are so many performance indicators both positive and negative that would translate to plus or minus the number of points.
The information gathered in a game by the ruby union takes account of every detail. Each individual player is assessed to their contribution to their role. For every contribution, points are added. These contributions may refer to lineouts, rucks, scrums, tackling and passing. If the player caused a turn-over, a point will be added to his score.
On the other hand, a mistake causes a point to be taken away from the player. A player who turns the ball over the opponent will see his points taken away.
After a round, the cumulative points in favor and against are pooled together with the other fantasy teams to come up with the round's total points.
