Importance of Discipline in School Life
“If you work with self-focus and discipline, you can achieve almost anything.”
Discipline is important in everyone’s life. It helps bring a sense of responsibility, determination to work hard each time after failure and stay focused on achieving success. Discipline is the key factor which helps achieve success in life. It can give us guidelines and improve our standard of living. If introduced at the initial stages, discipline shapes the attitude and will of students. It enables students to develop a mature mind and have an inner control to postpone immediate pleasures for long-term benefits.
It is one of the most under-rated, least understood aspect of in every student’s life. During teenage discipline is seen as the opposite of freedom. As at that age the child’s mind is usually combined with a short-sighted, simplistic understanding of freedom. Discipline in school life is as important as breathing. The students cannot be well-educated without discipline. To have a great career in future discipline can play a very important role. It is more important in schools because the set of rules & regulations set as discipline determine the proper code of behavior. As they say, “an empty mind is a devil’s workshop”; if the student’s mind is not occupied in constructive activities they might be led astray. And, these are just the foundation years. If discipline becomes a habit, it holds these students in good stead when they face life as it gets more complex.
Many students lose their focus when exposed to distractions such the internet, movies, gossiping with friends, etc. Discipline is like training your mind to be focused and work towards your goals. It does not mean only academics and no other activities. It teaches the student the art of time management. He learns how to set aside time for studies and various other activities of his interest. If a child is disciplined in the school years then he can carve a bright future.
The students without discipline will crumble under the work pressure; workload and can stress out easily whereas a disciplined student can multitask can perform well even under pressure. Discipline is not only limited to following the rules of the school and obeying the words of the teachers and parents, it is also about gaining self-patience and having control over their desires of the soul. As discipline is important at every stage of life, it is important to teach your child its importance at a very young age.
Inculcate discipline in your little ones and watch them achieve success in their endeavors!
