Have you ever considered speaking at a middle school or high school assembly? You may not have but rest assured that some people are speaking to teenagers at schools across America for a profession. They are getting paid a decent amount for every speech they give at a school.
What is a school assembly?
Through the year schools will give their students an ounce of motivation by asking a speaker to come and speak to their students about an important topic. For example, let's say a school has been bogged down by a bully on campus and the number of bullies continues to grow. In this scenario a school counselor would ask a teen speaker who is an expert in the area of school bullying to come and speak to their students at a school assembly. A school assembly can be defined a body of students who gather to listen to a speaker.
Assemblies usually take place in the gymnasium or cafeteria so that as many student as possible can participate in the event. The event is used to target a specific topic or issue that a school wants to address to their students. Speakers are hired because they can be the neutral person in the room that can say the hard things that students need to hear.
If a Principal gets in front of the students often times that person can come off as mean and students will be turned off by the message. If you are an event planner at school remember that speaking to teenagers is not an easy task and very few can do it.
