Happy Aquarium is about a game / simulator about aquariums and raising fishes. The game was developed by Crowdstar and has a few similarities with Zynga, FishVille. We are not going to do any comparison between these two games in review, instead we will look at how the games work and feel instead.

Game play
Happy Aquarium is about raising your baby fish into adulthood in an aquarium environment. Aside from fishes, you can actually raise other types of marine life as well like penguin, whales and of course the mysteries sea monster if you are lucky.

The game starts you off in an empty aquarium as the pet shop owner Harold will guide you during the first few stage of the game. Unlike other games which allow you to skip the tutorial, Harold looks to be a very eager pet shop owner who wishes you to know the game mechanics and guide you how to take care of your pets.

You will first get to buy a pet from Harold's shop and from there you will be given an option to name your first pet fish. For our end, we tend to call our pet Mabel Games. After the usual training material, you will then be allowed to do what you wish in the game.

Not many things can be done in your aquarium during the first few levels as most of the items will be either too expensive to purchase or lock until you reach that certain level. In order not to let you wait for that, the developer is nice enough to provide some mini-games to players to keep them employed and to earn some rewards while waiting for their fish to grow into adulthood. There will be two mini-games during the start of the game, however new players might not notice it until they explore their fishes and aquarium a bit.

The first mini-game that a player can do is to play coin collection. To get this option, just click on the tiny chess below the screen, you will get two tries during the beginning of the game. This mini-game, players will be ask to choose a fish in your tank to take it out to the wide ocean floor to do some coins collection. This game will give you a countdown timer to allow your pet fish to collect as much goal as possible. I have tried this game using a touch pad, personally speaking … try to avoid using a touch pad unless you are very good with it. Mouse is the best choice of control in this game as it will be rather difficult to control your fish using a touch pad.

After the game is over you will present with a score of how much coins you are able to obtain during the game. This is rather a good way to make some quick money during the beginning of the game.

The second mini-game is to pick any fish on your tank and click on training. This is more like a quick racing game and your goal is to avoiding getting your fish killed. Fast and also exciting as you will try to get your fish from one end to another in one piece. Additional to the racing game, you can also collect free coins and fish food that you can use in you inventory later on.

For those who actually wonder why there is a gender symbol on your pet, Crowdstar actually provide a cute little feature to allow your fish to MATE. It cost a little coin and the result can be a bit rewarding here.

A total disaster and get an auto cleaner and feeder to keep your fish and marine life well and happy till you return!

Graphic
Happy Aquarium has a very nice and colorful environment. Fishes are also very well done, but very cartoon like as you can see your fishes and pets have a big smile on their face when they are happy. Animation is also well done in a stage that the weeds will flow with the current.

Sound
Very nice tune that is played during the game as it is soft and gentle. The tune is very relaxing and if one is not careful put put someone to sleep if get to relax while looking at their virtual fish tank a bit too much.

Conclusion
This is a very nice game that is suitable for everyone. Furthermore the mini-game itself can keep players playing for sometime before looking elsewhere in Facebook for some other activities to do.

I give this game 3.5 out of 5.
