Do you or someone you know play the game of baseball? If yes, I hope the kind of baseball shoes being used has been taken into account, because it can make a big difference in the final out of a game, a practice or a try-out.
Do you remember when these 'games' were fun? Not that baseball is not fun anymore; do not get me wrong, of course it is. However, the level of competition is absolutely fierce at all levels of sports anymore these days, and baseball is certainly no exception. If you want to advance, whether it be from the bench to the field, from the 'weak link' to the MVP, if you want to get selected for the travel baseball team, or make it on to your high school, college, Triple -A or Major League Baseball team, you need to be giving your absolute best all the time. Having the proper baseball equipment is a critical piece of being the best you can be.
Not that we want anyone making excuses that they 'could have been somebody' if they had different equipment. After all, the equipment is only as good as the person using it. But … a baseball player's natural abilities can be hindered if they have less than ideal gear.
Take baseball shoes for example.
Of course you need baseball shoes with the proper fit. If your cleats are way too big or way too small, you're not going to be able to run your best. That means you might not make it the base in time to beat the throw. Or on defense, it could mean that you can not get to fly that ball and make the out before it drops out of the sky. I think it's pretty obvious that having the poorly fitting shoes can really hinder any athlete's efforts.
At the same time, having the wrong kind of baseball shoe can cause just as much trouble. Take the traditional baseball cleat compared to baseball turf shoes for example.
If you were to be playing a game on hard, artificial turf and all you had to wear was standard baseball spikes, there is no way you'll be able to play your best ball. Not only will you not have the kind of transaction you should, making you slower and less sure-footed, but you'll probably probably have that which are in quite a bit of pain before the game is over. If you happen to be playing a tournament or a double-header, you perform in your next game will probably be even worse!
There are lots of different styles of baseball shoes from all the different manufacturers such as Nike, Mizuno, Adidas and others, at all different price points. Knowing the kind of surface you will be playing on and having the proper baseball shoes for that surface can ensure that your true talent comes through and you will have your best shot at winning, whether that be making the out, scoring the run, making the team or winning the game.
