[ad_1]

When you are trying to lose weight, exercise alone will never be enough to ensure lasting, healthy weight loss. While exercise will certainly burn more calories and help improve overall fitness, nutrition can not be neglected if long term health is the goal. You would not run your car on substandard gas, so there is no reason to do the same thing to your body. We all have high sugar, high calorie favorite foods that we simply can not resist, but many of them have low calorie, healthy alternatives that can clearly be seen as healthy, nutritious weight loss food.

French Fries

The satisfying salty crunch of french fries is one of the most missed foods when people try to improve their diet. There is, however, a healthy alternative that is actually very tasty. Simply take a pound of fresh green beans and cut them in half, then toss them in a large bowl with a tablespoon or two of olive oil, a bit of garlic powder, mineral salt, and any spices you prefer. Spread them out on a cookie sheet and roast them at 400 degrees until dark and crispy, about thirty minutes. While the flavor is certainly different, these crispy trees are delicious and definitely scratch that french fry its.

Soda Pop

This one is surprisingly easy to replace. All you have to do is pick up a bottle of club soda or carbonated water and a sugar free flavoring syrup that are commonly used for flavoring coffee and Italian sodas. Simply add a bit of the flavoring to the club soda, replace the cap, and shake vigorously to combine. Two tablespoons is generally plenty for a two liter bottle of club soda. Just be careful to allow the water to re-absorb the carbon dioxide and settle before you try to open the bottle to avoid explosive results.

Spaghetti

Pasta is almost entirely made up of white flour, and almost all calories contained within come from simple carbohydrates, which are immediately converted into fat deposits. This does not mean that pasta can not be approximated in a satisfying form that is not only delicious, but a healthy weight loss food that is very similar to the original. Simply poke a spaghetti squash multiple times with a knife, then bake it for an hour at 375 degrees. Once it's cooled, halve it and scoop out the seeds, then scrape all the strands into a large bowl. Toss with spaghetti sauce and any desired additions, then garnish with parmesan cheese and a bit of oregano.
