2008-09 Boston College Eagles Men's Basketball Team

This astonishing team began in 1904 and in the same year on December 26 they played their first even game in which they lose in the score 8-6 to Harvey H of United States Navy and won its first-even game that season against Tufts University at the score of 23-17 in which it was held Medford Massachusetts. The basketball team encountered different ups and downs in their career especially during the 20th century in which they only rented for the first three seasons before they are being dropped. They gain brief revival in the 1920's but dropped again in the year 1924-25 season. The basketball team became permanent in the 1945-46 season. Boston College's basketball program is one of the most popular and successful college basketball programs in the Northeast.

In the 2008-2009 ACC Season, the BC won over the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Dean Dome in the score of 85-78. They started the season with 1-0 but they lose with their fight with Harvard with the score of 82-70. They had 4 consecutive losses after that Carolina game including the Miami Hurricane, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and Virginia Tech Hokies. But they revived after they won over Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. After that, they lose against the No. 7 Wake Forest and No. 11 Clemson. On February 15 2009, they won against the # 6 Duke. After they won, they lost again with Miami Florida for the second time in the year and won with # 25 Florida State and a Rakim Sanders buzzer beater over Georgia Tech. They finished the regular season 21-10 and sixth in the ACC. For this season, the team won 11 over 34 fights including non conference which until until March 13, 2009. Some of the famous players for this season include Tyrese Rice who plays a significant role as the guard of the team, Reggie Jackson and Joe Trapani the new player in the team.

For this season, the Boston College men's basketball team did not make it to the finals but they have a good opportunity to make it in the next season giving his powerful players and and ever support coach. Everyone is looking forward for their next game.
