7 Myths About Jelqing – Does Jelqing Really Work for Enlarging the Penis?
More and more guys are learning about the jelqing technique for enlarging the penis. While jelqing becomes more popular, more jelqing myths begin to surface.
Does jelqing really work for enlarging the penis? Jelqing does have it’s enlargement benefits, but men should be aware of the following myths:
Myth 1 – Jelqing doesn’t work. Let’s get this out of the way, right away. While there are a number of people who will regard jelqing as not legitimate, there ae hordes of males who have reported positive results using this technique. My observations have been with guys on fitness forums who have a history of posting good information and very useful techniques. Along comes questions regarding the jelqing technique, and these same males report success in regards to achieving enlargement results. There are too many guys who swear by the technique to flat out discount it as not working.
Myth 2 – Jelqing will get you “super huge”. Having said the above, jelqing is not a magic bullet that will balloon you into super-size status. Many guys get the impression that jelqing will provide huge size results. This tends to be a myth. A good way to put it is that with jelqing you may be able to go from small to average, or from average to above average. Now this can make a huge visual difference in your size. It just won’t make an over the top visual difference.
Myth 3 – Jelqing doesn’t work because I tried it for 2 weeks and didn’t see any results. This is a common myth. Trying the jelq exercise for a few weeks and then claiming it doesn’t work. While some guys do see some gains after a few weeks, for most it takes longer. Many good jelqing programs consist of 8-12 week routines. The key to size gains is both patience and persistence.
Myth 4 – Jelqing plus pumps will get you the quickest results. Wrong! Many guys believe that combining jelqing with other techniques, such as penis pumps, will get you the quickest results possible, since you are doing two things at once. This is akin to overtraining. Doing more doesn’t lead to faster results. It actually leads to increase risk and will hamper any results from occurring at all.
Myth 5 – You need to jelq for an hour at a time. This is an old myth, perhaps started by guys who studied ancient tribes who apparently had engaged in jelqing as part of ritual and their routines are sometimes said to be long and enduring. Well, it’s been a long time since then, and now the majority of jelq routines are actually very short, some even under 10 minutes long. Guys have found ways to make the exercise work as well as possible, in the shortest amount of time possible.
Myth 6 – The jelq is limited and one dimensional, and you will burn out on the routine easily. While the standard jelq technique can get “boring”, it certainly isn’t one dimensional. There are many variations to jelqing. Most guys are only familiar with the basic technique, which is thumb and forefinger wrapped around the base of the semi-erect penis, while slowly massaging up towards the head and repeating with the other hand. While this is the common starter method, it is but one jelq technique. On top of that, there are a whole slew of various stretching exercises that are used alongside of jelqing.
Myth 7 – Jelqing needs to be done every single day. This is another myth that plays on the notion of “more is better”. In fact, every good jelqing program out there will recommend you take at least 2 days off during the week. I believe as jelq techniques become more advanced, there will be routines that will allow even more days off during the week, while still experiencing size results. While jelqing needs to be consistent, to be effective and safe it needs to have numerous rest days for the duration of a program.
