Homewood Suites Virginia Beach, VA – Review

[ad_1]

Virginia Beach is our family's monthly summer stomping ground. After 2 years of traveling there, we finally ventured out and explored new waters, specifically, a new hotel. The fact that our 2 and 6 year old are out of the infancy and toddler stages, respectably, has increased our comfort level and confidence, allowing us to be more adventurous and open-minded in all aspects of our travels.

Normally our family stays at the Hilton Town Center because of its central location. Major eateries surround the hotel and central shopping is within walking distance. This particular weekend that we traveled, the weekend of a National cheerleading competition, of course the hotel was booked. A creation of habit, when it comes to traveling with my kids, I have to admit I was a tad disappointed and ready to cancel our trip. However, as luck would have it, we were able to secure the last available room at a Hilton subsidiary in the area, the Homewood Suites Virginia Beach.

I was pleasantly surprised. Although the hotel was further from the center of action, it was a more practical and suitable choice for our family. The property had just about everything our family needed.

But that would make sense would not it? It is a Hilton hotel and it is and extended stay hotel. Traveling with a 2 and 6 year old requires the presence of a pool, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a gym for mommy to work off her traveling stress.

See below a list of the positives and negatives of the hotel. Thankfully, the positives far outweighed the negatives.

Positives

  • Full-size fridge
  • Microwave
  • Dishwasher
  • Eat-in Kitchen
  • DVD player !!
  • Gym with tv
  • Pool
  • Miniature Golf
  • Continental Breakfast
  • 24-hr coffee
  • Laundry room
  • Ample seating in dining area
  • Lobby Living room / Entertainment room

Negatives

  • Limited elevators for the number of floors in the building
  • Location of elevators
  • Setup of Parking
  • Breakfast meat choices for non-pork / beef eaters
  • Inability to quickly adjust and handle large crowds

Do I recommend the hotel if you're in the area with your family? Yes. I do not see you being disappointed.
