Is your Bass Fishing Boat what makes you catch more and bigger bass?

Some people have a nice big boat with all the bells and whistles and others have a little Jon Boat others may even have nothing more than a canoe that they use for fishing.

I personally started out with a 10 foot John boat and then I bought a 14 foot bass boat with a 115 hp Mercury outboard. And then I stepped up to an even bigger and better one, it's a 17 foot bass boat with a 150 hp Mercury Black Max. Both of my bass boats have all the bells and whistles, trolling motors, depth finders, live wells, etc. The Jon Boat has a 9.5 hp motor and a trolling motor. I did slightly modify the boat by building in a live well.

My son and I go fishing all the time and we used to catch lots of bass and big ones to. I said "used to" because since we stepped up to the big fancy boats we spend more time moving from spot to spot than we do fishing. When we had nothing more than the Jon Boat we would get there early, head to a spot and then fish are way back to the ramp or bank where we put the boat in at.

You know as well as I do that bass like to hang out along this shady edges, under the lily pads, in the cattails. Of course you can fish these places in a big bass boat but it is a lot easier in a small boat because you can get back into tight places better than you can with the big boat.

I do agree that it is nice to have a big bass fishing boat with all the bells and whistles. But it's not about the boat the real truth is, it's about the techniques of bass fishing that catches more and bigger bass. Sure you can apply techniques in a big boat to. But I have found that I spend more time actually fishing in the small boat than I do in the big boats.

I know you may have a big bass boat and unlike me, spend more time fishing and catching lots of bass but the bottom line is "it's all about technique and getting to them" and nothing to do with the boat. You may disagree by saying that you can get to a good spot faster. But is that good spot all the way across the lake or is it right under or real close to the boat ramp?

Now, to answer the question,
