The Monaco Yacht Show
The Monaco Yacht Show is organized by global provider of specialist information and services, Informa, which portfolio of 150 offices worldwide make it the largest publicly-owned organizer of conferences and course in the world.
Monaco has long been associated with the luxury yachting lifestyle, with images of the sovereign city-state and La Condamine region often controlled by the Port Hercules harbor (where the show takes place), with its array of super-yachts – including the yacht owned by the Prince of Monaco himself.
The event takes place at the end of September, and is open to professionals within the industry, journalists and the general public. Over the years, the average size of yacht on display has steadily increased, rising from 41 meters in 2006, to the current average of 43 meters. The attendance figures have also grown as the event has matured, with this year's number of visitors reaching approximately 28,000.
The Monaco Yacht Show draws exhibitors, industry professionals and yachting enthusiasts from around the globe, with some 80% of visitors traveling from abroad to attend the event. This year, companies from 37 countries displayed their goods at the show, with 88% of exhibitors expected to return the following year. Such a high retention of interested firms highlights the prestige and significance of this yachting industry institution.
The event not only joins those involved in the manufacture and development of yachts, but also experts in the field of marina development and marina management, with companies active in sectors such as interior design, refit and repair, and press and media also involved in this premier display of all things yacht-associated.
In addition to the display of super-yachts and the services associated with the yachting industry, exhibitors can also enjoy various social evenings, dinners and receptions during the event, providing the perfect chance to interact with, and network with like-minded individuals in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
